Through your endorsement The River Plantation, over the past several years, has become a premier destination on Maryland’s Eastern Shore for Golfing, Hunting, Fishing and Social Events. One of the key components needed to take the property to the next level is a lodging facility. In an effort to bring the much needed lodging component to the property, The River Plantation has partnered with Mirbeau Inn & Spa of Skaneateles, New York, to develop a first class spa and lodging facility on the Hunter’s Oak property.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa, is a unique concept in hospitality and has become a national leader of excellence. The Mirbeau Inn & Spa concept provides a truly unique and relaxing resort/retreat environment especially suited for individuals and couples looking for an opportunity to “get away” for a day, or two, to rest, relax and regroup. Its unwavering commitment to excellence has brought Mirbeau Inn & Spa national recognition and the preeminent position as Central New York’s Signature Destination Spa-Resort. It is our goal to bring this same level of quality and service to The River Plantation in the near future. During the next several months we will be working diligently with Queen Anne’s County planning officials with the hope to make this goal a reality soon.
Hot off the press….As of this writing we just received information that Mirbeau Inn & Spa, Skaneateles, NY has just earned a 4-Star Rating by Mobil Travel for their Hotel, Spa and Dining Room. This prestigious honor makes Mirbeau the only hotel in New York State outside of Manhattan to achieve this rating. There are currently no 4 or 5 Star rated hotels in the state of Maryland. The Spa 4-Star rating makes Mirbeau one of only 4 Spas in the entire state of New York rated 4 Star; there are no 4 or 5-Star Rated Spas in the state of Maryland. Mirbeau’s Fine Dining Restaurant 4 Star Rating is one of only 2 restaurants in the State of New York outside of Manhattan to achieve this rating. There are only 2 restaurant in the entire state of Maryland and 3 in D.C. that are 4 Star Rated. We are very excited and look for exciting opportunities in the future. We will keep you posted as events develop.
Another new perk word at The River Plantation…Harness Racing. The dirt moving project that took almost two years to develop is almost completed. The state of the arts horse barns and 5/8 mile training track are finally completed and 30 standard-bred harness racing horses now call it home. With weekly races at Dover Downs in Delaware, the Meadowlands in New Jersey and Yonkers in NY the work pace is fast and constant. You can see horses in the pasture every morning as well as working out on the track. Stop by, we would love to show you the facility, have you meet the trainer and staff and learn about ownership opportunities. Two of the horses, Glass Pack and Red Creek are currently owned by The River Plantation. Glass Pack has had 26 starts in 2007/’08 and has set a record at an Ohio track. Red Creek is in training and will hit the track for real in the summer.
